FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a polymer composition. Disclosed is a method of producing a polymer composition, in which a) providing a monomer composition M), comprising A) at least one α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, selected from acrylic acid, methacrylic acid and mixtures thereof, wherein component A) can be partially or completely replaced with unsaturated sulphonic acid component C). Then, monomer composition M) provided at step a) undergoes radical polymerisation in presence of at least one polyester component PE), not containing a copolymerizable double bond and selected from polyether polyols with number-average molecular weight of at least 200 g/mol, their monoalkyl and dialkyl ethers with 1-6 carbon atoms in alkyl, surface-active substances. Polyester component PE) contains a polyether polyol with propylene oxide repeating units or its simple monoalkyl or dialkyl ether with 1–6 carbon atoms in alkyl, then the number of propylene oxide repeating units in the molecule of polyether polyol is, on the average, maximum 10. Also described are polymer compositions and use thereof.

EFFECT: method enables to obtain compositions based on polymer unsaturated carboxylic acids and polyethers, which can be obtained in form of a solid material, such as a film, in the form of a coating on a substrate or in form of particles of a solid substance.
