FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to use (oxidised) thioethers of polyalkylene oxides in detergents and cleaning agents, especially in dishwashing agents, and detergent and cleaning agent, especially dishwashing agent containing (oxidised) thioether of polyalkylene oxides. Described is use of compounds of formula I: R-S(O)x-[CH2CH2-O]n-CH2CH2-S(O)y-R’ (I), where R and R' independently denote a straight-chain alkyl with 6–18 carbon atoms, n is a number from 11 to 150 and x and y independently denote 0 or 1. Also disclosed is a dishwashing agent and method of producing disclosed compounds.
EFFECT: reduced foaming, spots and film-forming on dishware during washing.
