SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanical engineering and can be used in the manufacture of a cavity in the stator of a progressive cavity pump. In the method, a working tool is used to remove the material inside the stator blank, wherein rotational motion is transmitted to the working tool inside the stator blank by the first shaft and the eccentric motion around the second shaft. Said stator blank and working tool are moved relative to each other. Said stator blank performs rotational movement in which the gear ratio between the stator blank and the support shaft is adjusted. Said stator blank and/or tool performs axial feed movement, the tool in the stator blank is guided along it, and the guide tube and the support shaft are arranged parallel to each other. Disclosed is a device for implementing this method.
EFFECT: manufacture of a stator of unlimited length from different materials within one process is provided.
