METHOD OF PRODUCING LOW-ALLOY STEEL FLAT STOCK TO MANUFACTURE WEAR-RESISTANT PARTS Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC C21D8/02 C22C38/42

Abstract RU 2678854 C1

FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, in particular to the production of flat stock from carbon steels, intended for the manufacture of wear-resistant parts in mechanical engineering, car building. Method for the production of low-alloy steel flat stock for the manufacture of wear-resistant parts includes the smelting of low-alloy steel, casting it into a slab, heating the slab, carrying out rough rolling to intermediate thickness and finishing rolling. Carry out the smelting of low-alloy steel containing, wt. %: carbon 0.90–1.1, manganese 0.1–0.5, silicon 0.15–0.35, chromium is 0.10–0.40, nickel is not more than 0.30, copper is not more than 0.30, phosphorus is not more than 0.025, sulfur is not more than 0.020, nitrogen is not more than 0.012, iron and inevitable impurities are the rest. Finishing rolling is completed at a temperature of 860–910 °C followed by cooling in two stages, and in the first stage, the cooling is carried out to a temperature of 730÷800 °C with speed 1÷10 °C/s, and in the second stage, cooling is carried out to a temperature of 650÷730 °C with speed 1÷5 °C/s. Next, carry out heating flat stock to a temperature of 750 ± 20 °C followed by cooling, providing a structure consisting of a mixture of plate-like perlite and granular perlite, with the yield strength of rolled products σt makes 290–410 MPa, and the hardness of flat stock does not exceed 255 NV.

EFFECT: produce flat stock with high hardness and ductility.
