METHOD FOR DETERMINING AREA FOR IMPLANTING DEFIBRILLATING ELECTRODE IN PATIENTS WITH ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B6/00 A61N1/05

Abstract RU 2679041 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to cardiology. Perfusion disorders in the apical and septal segments of the ventricles of the heart are assessed using single-photon emission computed tomography of the myocardium performed under conditions of physiological rest. When the degree of myocardial perfusion disturbance in the apical segments is 2 points or more, on a 5-point scale and the total index of perfusion disturbance more than 18 %, the defibrillating electrode is implanted into the septal position. When the degree of myocardial perfusion disorder in the septal segments is 2 points or more on a 5-point scale and the total index of myocardial perfusion disturbance is more than 24 %, the defibrillating electrode is implanted into the apical position.

EFFECT: method allows to increase the efficiency of treatment of patients with a high risk of sudden cardiac death and reduce the likelihood of raising the threshold for stimulation and defibrillation of the defibrillating electrode, which will reduce the number of unmotivated shocks, thereby increasing the service life of the defibrillating electrode and will save the battery of the cardioverter-defibrillator, which will improve the quality of life of patients.
