SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of beekeeping. Way to prevent starvation of families hibernating bees involves inspecting hives at an outdoor temperature from +4 ºC to -25 ºC from autumn to spring departure of bees, when the bees will gather in the club, and provide the bees with honey of 2.5–3 kg per street, pushing the honeybee frames with the bees and alternating with full frames from this family or from this apiary. Hives inspect regularly after 2 weeks, paying attention to the location of the club of bees. When the bees diverge along the entire length of the small streets, the bees on top of the nesting frames are laid, without opening the seals, the honey frame of this family or from this apiary or the harvested honey of 1–2 kg in a plastic bag with perforations. After eating the food, the frame with the bees is torn off with light movements left and right, lifting one edge, holding above the nest, carefully slide the nesting frames, creating a pocket, and place it in this pocket, place a new frame on top with food, or after eating honey in a bag pack a new bag of honey.

EFFECT: proposed method of preventing the fasting of hibernating bee families allows timely detection of the onset of fasting in bees during wintering, ensures high safety of hibernating bee colonies from fasting during hibernation and prevention of infectious diseases of bees.
