FIELD: calculating; counting.

SUBSTANCE: device for recording and monitoring the environment of vehicles, in particular trucks, contains a recording device, indicator device (5). Indicator device (5) comprises device (7) for tracking a view or for recognizing a face. Eye tracking or recognition device (7) is configured to recognize the view, directed for a predetermined period of time to indicator device (5) or turned for a predetermined period of time to indicator device (5) of observer's face (8), which looks at indicator device (5). After this, indicator device (5) in the off state is activated so that at least part of the vehicle environment recorded by the registration device is displayed with indicator device (5). Method for recording and controlling the environment of vehicles as well as a vehicle is also proposed.

EFFECT: it is possible to create a method and device for recording and controlling the environment of vehicles, high management comfort, and reduced energy consumption.
