Playback method is proposed that includes the steps of: receiving a control signal inputted by a user, which reflects the user's intention to perform an action; determining the method of displaying video content according to the control signal entered by the user; determining the video playback control instructions in accordance with the characteristic information of the video content and the display method of the video content, wherein the video playback control instruction includes the playback start position and the playback method; and playing the video content under the control of the video playback control instruction. Since the control instruction is determined in accordance with the display method of the video being played, the video can be played from any location and from any point in time.

EFFECT: technical result is to ensure the playback of video content from any location or time, so that the observer can adapt and arbitrarily observe an object or scene in video content from each location.
