SUBSTANCE: invention relates to running tools and a casing hanger in a wellhead. In particular, proposed is a running device for a casing hanger, containing: securement means for securing the casing hanger to the running tool, movable between a secured position in which the casing hanger is attached to the running tool, and an unsecured position in which the casing hanger is not attached to the running tool; wherein, in the secured position, the casing hanger is suspendable from the running tool, and the running tool supports the suspension weight of the casing hanger; activation means in order to enable the securement means to move from the secured position to the unsecured position, wherein activation means are movable in the axial direction between the secured position and the unsecured position; release prevention means in order to prevent the movement of the securement means from the secured position to the unsecured position whilst the suspension weight of the casing hanger is suspended from the running tool. Wherein the release prevention means comprise support means to prevent movement of the activation means in the axial direction from the secured position and the unsecured position, whilst the running tool supports the casing hanger, and the suspension weight of the casing hanger is transferred to the running tool. When the running tool does not support the suspension weight, the running tool is releasable from the casing hanger. Also disclosed is a method for locating the casing hanger in a wellbore.

EFFECT: technical result is wider range of technical running tools and casing hanger in a wellhead.
