SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the oil and gas industry and can be used for technological work in a subsea well. A tool for running and installing a casing string for operations in a subsea well contains a housing with a core installed in it and fixed against axial movement. In the body there are retainer rods and pins that can be axially displaced towards the inner surface of the casing string. Retainer rods have protrusions with the possibility of their interaction with counter cavities on the inner surface of the casing string. The pins are made with the ability to protect the tool from rotation relative to the casing string and are installed in the body so that, upon contact with the pipe string, the pin is recessed until, when the tool is moved, it falls into the counter groove on the pipe string, when it gets into it due to the impact springs, the pin is fixed. Retainer rods and pins are positioned so that the top edge of the pin is above the bottom edge of the retainer rods, and the bottom edge of the pin is below the top edge of the retainer rods.

EFFECT: reduction of overall dimensions of the tool and reduction of its metal consumption.
