FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgical production and is suitable as an element of tooling for the production of non-ferrous castings on injection molding machine. Piston assembly of the injection molding machine comprises a body with a head and a thread on its shank connected to the thread of the surface of the front cavity of the rod, a piston-sleeve located with its the ends behind the head of the body, supplying and discharging refrigerant paths formed by the body channels and transverse windows, and sealing elements for sealing the refrigerant circulation zones. It is additionally equipped with a tube placed in a blind longitudinal cavity of the rod with a side clearance and fixed with the front part in the blind cavity as an extension of the cavity of the body shank, while the sealing elements are placed in the annular ledges of the body and the rod, depressions and an annular protrusion with longitudinal grooves connecting the depressions are made on the body, forming annular cavities with the inner surfaces of the sleeves for circulating refrigerant therethrough, while the depressions are connected to the bottom of the body cavity and the lateral clearance by means of transverse windows.
EFFECT: piston life increases, its design is simplified and manufacturability increases.
