FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method for controlling the suspension polymerization to obtain polyethylene. Polyethylene is obtained in a cascade of polymerization reactors by the reaction of a Ziegler catalyst, ethylene and either hydrogen, or, as comonomer (s), of one or several C3-C10 alpha olefins, or hydrogen and one or more C3-C10 alpha olefins at a temperature of 60–95 °C and at a pressure of 0.15–3 MPa. Said cascade of reactors contains a first polymerization reactor and one or more subsequent polymerization reactors, with the first polymerization reactor containing dispersed polyethylene as a suspension in a suspension medium containing a diluent. Further, the ethylene partial pressure is maintained by regulating the catalyst feed rate to the polymerization reactor, and the hydrogen / ethylene partial pressure ratio and comonomer / ethylene are supported by adjusting the feed rates of hydrogen and / or one or more comonomers to the polymerization reactor.
EFFECT: obtaining bimodal or multimodal polyethylene in a cascade of reactors with more precise control of each reactor, providing better control of the polymer properties of the final product.
