FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing an ethylene polymer, involving ethylene homopolymerisation or copolymerisation of ethylene with one or more comonomers in a gas-phase polymerisation reactor. Gas-phase polymerisation reactor has an upflow reactor in which growing polymer particles move upwards in fluidisation, fast fluidisation or other modes of transportation, and a downflow reactor in which growing polymer particles flow down in a sealed mold. Residual volume of polymer particles in downflow reactor makes 55–80 wt% of residual volume of polymer particles in gas-phase polymerisation reactor.
EFFECT: preventing and minimizing the formation of agglomerates, lumps or deposits on the wall of the reactor.
