SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of chemical industry, in particular to the glyoxalic acid (GA) from the glyoxal oxidation (GO) products extraction method, which is used in the organic synthesis, for example, is the vanillin, allantoin and biodegradable polymers production raw product. Glyoxalic acid from the oxalic and glyoxalic acids containing glyoxal oxidation products mixture separation method, including the calcium glyoxalate precipitate processing in glyoxalic acid by the oxalic acid solution addition with the glyoxalic acid resulting solution further filtration and its concentration. This mixture processing is performed by the magnesium oxide, hydroxide or carbonate to pH 5–8 for the soluble magnesium glyoxalate and the magnesium oxalate slightly soluble precipitate mixture formation, followed by its filtration and the calcium nitrate, chloride, bromide or iodide solution addition to the filtrate while stirring at the amount of 0.5–1.0 mol for each mol of the oxidized glyoxal.

EFFECT: proposed is the glyoxalic and oxalic acids separation method as the glyoxal oxidation products.
