SUBSTANCE: invention relates to image rendering tools of three-dimensional laser scan data (6). This method includes providing a set of laser scan data for a given scan in the form of spherical displacement map (18) and generating tessellation pattern (71; fig. 17) by sampling the spherical displacement map. Further, a graphics processing unit may generate the tessellation pattern.
EFFECT: increased image rendering accuracy.
