METHOD FOR DETERMINING INDIVIDUAL TERM OF RECOVERY PERIOD AFTER SURGERY OF THYROID AND PARATHYROID GLANDS Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B5/103

Abstract RU 2680177 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely to endocrine surgery, and can be used to determine the individual terms of the recovery period after surgery of the thyroid and parathyroid glands. Before surgery, the angles of rotation of the head – the angle of extension and flexion of the cervical spine of the patient, the angle of lateral inclination of the head toward the lesion and contralateral side, and the angle of rotation of the head are measured. After the surgery, starting from the second day, repeated measurements of the angles of rotation of the head and questioning the patient about the painful sensations are carried out. When obtaining the values of these angles of at least 90 % of the original and in the absence of pain, the period of the recovery period is considered complete.

EFFECT: method provides an opportunity to objectify the timing of temporary disability for a particular patient by determining the timing of recovery of range of motion in the cervical spine and the assessment of pain for each patient.
