METHOD FOR MANUAL SELF-CORRECTION OF LIMITING RANGE OF ROTATIONAL MOVEMENTS IN CERVICAL SPINE IN PATIENTS WITH CERVICAL DORSOPATHY Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61H1/02

Abstract RU 2823159 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely vertebroneurology, orthopaedics, exercise therapy, osteopathy and manual therapy, and can be used for correction of limitation of rotational movements in cervical spine (CS) in patients with dorsopathy. First, the patient performs a warm-up in the form of performing a series of consecutive exercises at a comfortable pace: head tilts forward, backward, to the right and to the left, head turns to the right and to the left, a diagonal throw-back, as well as circular movements of the head from a straight position and circular movements from a rotation position. After the warm-up, the patient performs a manual action in the form of a rotational exercise, starting with the movement towards the side where the pain syndrome is least manifested. Sitting facing a horizontal surface, the patient’s elbows are placed on this horizontal surface in front of him/her, three phalanges of the little finger of the first hand and the hypotenar are placed on the upper one-third of the deltoid muscle in the area of the opposite shoulder joint across the fibres of this muscle. Patient performs active rotation of the head towards the above deltoid muscle, avoiding movements in the thoracic region. Then the patient brings the base of the free thumb and rests against the same half of the lower jaw body, performs a springy pressing movement on it, increasing the volume of rotation towards the above deltoid muscle.

EFFECT: method provides an independent increase in the volume of rotation and lateroflexion in the CS with various types of CD in the self-help mode of the patient, which does not cause complications and painful sensations, including in cervicalgia, degenerative-dystrophic lesions of CS in 1st and 2nd degree blocks (according to Stoddart), vertebrobasilar insufficiency, cochleovestibular syndrome due to a combination of techniques of the claimed invention.
