FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrostatic precipitators for cleaning gases from dust. Electrode includes the housing made of a metal strip with elements located along its longitudinal sides with fixed corona discharge firing points and with the means for fastening at the ends of the strip. Elements are made in the form of serrate teeth or needles and are arranged in sections, each of which consists of eight serrated teeth of varying height or needles arranged symmetrically four on each longitudinal side of the strip and made by means of a cut. Serrate teeth or needles are curved so that the prominent directions of the teeth or needles are set in eight directions, and the sharp ends of the teeth or needles, which are the ignition points, were located on a single virtual circumscribed circle to create a single corona point with respect to the precipitation electrode. Distance from the ignition points to the inner surface of the precipitation electrode is not more than 100 mm.
EFFECT: invention provides for an increase in the degree of gas purification.
