SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an operating method for an air conditioner of a vehicle. During operation, the required predetermined temperature of the passenger compartment is set predominantly, the route is set, and at least one predicted parameter is determined. Said predicted parameter includes the predicted climate of the environment on the route or at least one section of the track and/or the predicted heat flux into the vehicle's interior on the route or at least one section of the track and determining at least one plan to maintain a constant temperature for the route or at least one section of the track depending on the specific predicted parameter. Further, an alternative or additional operation method includes the definition of plans to maintain a constant temperature for the air conditioner of a vehicle by means of a control computer located outside said vehicle, and remote control of air conditioner of a vehicle, depending on plans to maintain a constant temperature, mainly through telematics.

EFFECT: reduced energy consumption is achieved.
