FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: method of storing vegetable root crops is that at the end of winter – early spring, stored in vegetable storehouses at a temperature of 0–2 °C roots are irradiated for an hour with long-wave infrared rays. Then they are treated with a water extract from pumpkin fruits at the rate of 20 l per 1 ton of root crops and dried with a fan to dry the grain. Water extract of pumpkin fruits is prepared by grinding using a homogenizer 500 g of pulp in 10 liters of warm water at a temperature of 25–30 °C.
EFFECT: invention reduces the intensity of winter-spring germination of root crops by a factor of one and a half to three, which ensures an increase in their preservation.
