FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to the field of field devices for industrial processes. Said field device contains a first process sensor, a wireless transceiver and a processor. Said first process sensor is made with the possibility of sensing a first process parameter. Said wireless transceiver is configured to wirelessly communicate with a network manager. Said processor is configured to process the sensed first process parameter and command the wireless transceiver and the first process sensor to perform a first resource-intensive activity in accordance with a first commissioned adaptive schedule, at the same time, the frequency of performing a resource-intensive activity varies over time and/or on the basis of sensed events. Above first resource-intensive activity is an operation with increased power consumption.
EFFECT: as a result, the level of packet loss and network downtime is minimized, unjustified energy consumption is prevented.
