FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: using for hot measurement of transverse size of metal profile. Essence of Invention is that the device contains a transmitting element containing at least two sections, separate, spaced apart from each other and located along the nominal axis (Z) of the feed of the metal profile, which is designed with possibility to generate an electromagnetic field with the desired profile of the power lines, and a receiving element located along the nominal axis (Z) in a position enclosed within the total longitudinal volume of the transmitting element, and which is designed with possibility to detect a signal associated with changes in the electromagnetic field caused by the passage of a metal profile.
EFFECT: providing the ability to effectively perform measurements in a hot state, regardless of a number of external conditions and parameters of the measured object.
