FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rolling production and can be used for measurement of transverse dimensions of rolled sections. Device comprises arranged in housing transmitting element (14), having at least two separate sections (14a, 14b, 14c, 14d), located at a distance from each other along the nominal axis Z of feeding metal profile (12) and configured to form an electromagnetic field with a given profile of power lines and performing the same nominal measurement of the transverse dimension of metal profile (12), and receiving element (18) located along said nominal axis Z between sections (14a, 14b, 14c, 14d) of transmitting element (14) and configured to detect signal (22) associated with changes of said electromagnetic field, caused by passage of metal profile (12) through transmitting element (14) and receiving element (18).
EFFECT: invention usage allows to expand device technological capabilities and increase measurement accuracy.
