FIELD: biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biochemistry and parasitology and can be used to study the biological properties of larvae of parasitic helminths, determining the quality of invasive products (carcasses, animal meat, animal by-products) and testing the means and methods for neutralizing a material infected with trichinosis. Method for determining the amount of glycogen in Trichinella larvae includes a series of biochemical reactions with glycogen of the studied larvae, preparation of calibration solutions and construction of a calibration graph of optical density, depending on the content of glycogen in a sample. Calculation of the glycogen concentration is carried out according to the formula, taking into account the relative density of the analyzed sample, coefficient, characterizing the sample dilution, slope of the calibration curve and number of Trichinella larvae in one drop of suspension. When the content of glycogen in one larva of Trichinella is not more than 0.002 mcg, the invasive material is considered to be neutralized.
EFFECT: invention improves the accuracy of determining biomaterials invasiveness.
