FIELD: manufacturing technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for producing polyacrylamide hydrogel, which can be used in the field of agriculture, medicine, cosmetology, for cleaning oil pipelines and for creating hygiene items. Method for producing polyacrylamide hydrogels by continuous frontal polymerization of the initial mixture (%) is proposed: a mixture of acrylamide and sodium acrylate – 0.1–50; N,N'-methylene bis-acrylamide – from 0.5–8; an initiator, which is potassium persulfate, – 0–1; nanoscale bentonite – 0.1–7, water – the rest, ensuring the absorbability of the resulting polyacrylamide hydrogels from 0.1 ml to 5,000 ml per 1 g of dry hydrogel.

EFFECT: proposed method provides high performance and low production cost, as well as improved characteristics of the resulting polyacrylamide hydrogel (high gel homogeneity and increased ability to absorb moisture and active substances with their subsequent release).
