FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for the production of polyacrylamide hydrogel (PAH), which can be used in agriculture, medicine, cosmetology, for purification of oil pipelines, and for creation of hygiene products. The method for the production of polyacrylamide hydrogel is carried out by continuous frontal polymerization, and it includes bottom-up supply of acrylamide or its derivatives to a vertical reactor of continuous action with continuous forced release of the resulting polyacrylamide hydrogel by extraction from an upper part of the reactor. Supply of acrylamide or its derivatives to the reactor is carried out at atmospheric pressure.

EFFECT: reduction in labor intensity in the implementation of a technology of the production of polyacrylamide hydrogel, increase in the reliability of a process of the production of hydrogel due to achievement of stability of a polymerization process, as well as increase in the quality of the resulting polyacrylamide hydrogel due to significant improvement of hydrogel homogeneity, possibility of stable and precise obtainment of pores of specified size and density, as well as elimination of toxicity of a final product.
