SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, namely to a medical device for ensuring health control. Medical device is configured to activate a helper functionality in determining a dose to determine the dose value of human insulin or analogue or a human insulin derivative based on a patient-specific selection of the initial data for the titration algorithm that implements the mentioned helper functionality in determining the dose, and contains a computer readable medium carrying computer program code for use with a computer to implement the method. Device comprises: first storage means, configured to store an initial data matrix with a set of initial parameters containing at least two elements of the initial data for one parameter of the helper functionality in determining the dose; receiving means arranged to receive initialization data and / or security data, preferably from the second storage means provided by a hardware key; selection means configured to select one data element for each set of initial parameters based on initialization data as initial data or one template of initial parameters containing a reference to one data element for each set of initial parameters, as initial data; and the first activation means, configured to activate, based on the security data, the helper functionality in determining the dose based on the selected initial data. Medical system comprises: the medical device according to any of the preceding claims; the hardware key or other device comprising the second storage means configured to store initialization data and / or security data, and a transmission means configured to transfer initialization data and / or security data stored in the second storage means to the reception means of the medical device.
