SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power equipment engineering and can be used in piston engines, both diesel and gas diesel. Engine with an aluminum piston with a steel insert on bottom thereof contains at least one cylinder with an aluminum piston placed in it with a steel insert on bottom thereof, kinematically connected with the crankshaft, cylinder head with intake and exhaust valves installed in it, the combustion chamber on the steel insert of the piston head, charge vortexes in the form of end projections with tangential channels are performed on the steel insert and are located around the combustion chamber on the insert, and adjacent to the recess in the cylinder head, and enter this cylindrical recess when the piston is in the TDC, the valves are located on the recesses in the cylinder head, the depth of which corresponds to the depth of the cylindrical recess of the cylinder head, combustion chamber is formed from a recess on the insert, a cylindrical recess in the cylinder head and recesses under the valves, the vortex movement of the charge at the inlet into the cylinder coincides in direction with the direction of the tangential channels on the steel insert, and the source of ignition, mounted in the recess of the cylinder head according to the invention, on the seating surface of the steel insert, which is pressed onto the cylindrical surface of the aluminum piston bottom, annular grooves with a depth of up to 0.6 mm, which alternate with the landing belts with a width of approximately 2 to 4 mm are made.
EFFECT: invention provides reliable fastening of a steel insert in an aluminum piston.
