FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: proposed engine comprises at least one cylinder with piston articulated with crankshaft, cylinder head with intake and exhaust valves fitted therein, in cylinder recesses, combustion chamber composed of cylinder head recess of the body of revolution, cylinder axis being aligned with cylinder axis or located nearby it. Charge swirlers composed of end ledges with tangential channels are located at piston bottom to abut of cylinder head cylindrical recess with piston at TDC. It incorporates the ignition source fitted in cylinder head recess. Intake and exhaust valves in cylinder head feature opposed inclinations to cylinder axis and are located at cylinder head recess bottom. Depth of said recess increases towards cylinder axis. Combustion chamber bottom features the hip-roof-shape. Ignition source is located at combustion chamber bottom. Fresh charge at intake for cooling the piston end ledges and bottom is swirled by an insert with deflectors. Said insert is fitted in one of cylinder head intake channels or in intake pipe. Note here that charge rotation in the cylinder features identical direction with tangential channels at piston bottom end ledges.
EFFECT: higher torque, longer life, decreased fuel consumption.
