CAR HINGE FOR PEDESTRIAN PROTECTION Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC B60R21/38

Abstract RU 2681435 C1

FIELD: motor vehicle industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the car hinge for pedestrian protection. Hinge includes the disconnecting device comprising the bracket attached either to the first or opposite second end of the groove made in the first or second element and a locking pin supported by another first or second element. In the normal closed and in the normal open positions, the locking pin is gripped by the bracket. Drive is designed to interact with the second element to move it up relative to the first element in response to a collision signal.

EFFECT: locking pin is able to destroy the bracket, moving to the end of the groove opposite to the bracket, and allowing the second element to turn around the pin relative to the first element into the open position of the hood in case of a collision.
