SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the measurement of tension in a tension belt. Device for measuring tension in a tension belt includes a clamping device for fixing a spring element, elastically deformable spring element (23), which is fixed by a clamping device and on which a stretch of a tension belt can take up force and elastically deform the spring element (23), and with increasing tensile force, ends (13a, 13b) of spring element (23) approach each other, and the electronic sensor unit. Sensor unit includes, on its part, sensor system (25), which measures the deformation of spring element (23) and generates a data signal, and a transmitter for transmitting the data signal to the receiving unit. Sensor system (25) is located at the ends of spring element (23) and measures distance (20) of the opposite ends of the spring element. Method of measuring the tension in the tension belt includes the location of the spring element on the tension belt, the location of sensor system (25) for measuring the distance between ends (13a, 13b) of the spring element to determine the deformation of the spring element and transmit the data signal to the receiving unit.
EFFECT: invention improves the reliability of data.
