FIELD: railroad engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to determining the location or identification of rolling stock. The railroad engine system for determining the speed of movement and the distance travelled contains receiving-emitting devices, a programmable microprocessor, blocks of correlation-extreme processing, sensors for measuring angular accelerations and components of the speed vector of the rolling stock, a block for classifying the spectrum of received signals, and a block for selecting the operating modes of the device. Each receiving-emitting device includes an emitter unit and a receiver unit. The railroad engine system for determining the speed of movement and the distance travelled contains “n” receiving and emitting devices located, respectively, in “n” sealed housings installed on both sides of the railroad engine and the rolling stock. In this case, the emitters are designed to operate in the visible wavelength range and in the blue-green wavelength range.
EFFECT: improved reliability of measuring the speed of rolling stock.
