SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to obstetrics, and can be used to predict the condition of a human fetus on the eve of childbirth. Entropy of the leukocyte formula is evaluated, and the patient’s condition is determined by the value of the indicator. At the time of birth, a sample of the venous blood of the mother is taken every 48 hours, which is examined on an automatic hematology analyzer. According to the analysis data obtained before the childbirth, the values of the average and maximum entropies of the leukocyte formula are established, on the basis of which, the value of the relative entropy is determined. When its value is from 54 to 58 %, the adaptive state of the fetus is established, and when the value of relative entropy is less than 54 % or more than 58 %, the disadaptive condition of the fetus in the mother’s body is set on the eve of childbirth.

EFFECT: method provides the ability to predict the condition of the fetus in the mother's body immediately before the onset of childbirth as a result of automatic analysis of leukocyte groups in the mother's venous blood sample and a uniform calculation of their relative entropy.
