FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to drying of seeds and grains and can be used mainly for batch plants. Device for drying seeds and grains contains a drying chamber formed by internal and external gas-permeable housings installed at adjustable distance from each other, having a rhombus cross-section. One end wall of the inner housing is blind, and the other is connected by a diffuser, in which a valve is installed, through a collector to a heat generator. Air slide with flap is located at the bottom of the chamber. Over-the-drier hopper with a screw conveyor is located at the top of the chamber. Chamber is installed using racks and stiffeners on the foundation. Humidity sensor is installed in the drying chamber, which is connected to the input of the heat generator control device. Invention also relates to a method of drying seeds and grains in which a material is loaded, is exposed to a heated drying agent, dried, cooled and discharged. Temperature of the material during drying is increased depending on the humidity and is maintained according to a given formula.
EFFECT: technical result is the reduction of seeds and grains drying time, without compromising their quality.
