SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for determining the actual stroke in an engine cylinder with progressively moving pistons. Method for determining the actual stroke in cylinder (113) of engine (100) with progressively moving pistons, having crankshaft (110) and camshaft (120), kinematically connected with drive shaft (211) of fuel pump (210), which increases the pressure of the fuel and feeds it into fuel line (230), without the possibility of rotation thereof independent of this drive shaft relative thereto, is that fuel pump (210) supplies fuel to fuel line (230) of engine (100) with moving pistons, from where it can be injected into cylinder (113) of engine (100) with moving pistons, the character (420) of the change in fuel pressure in fuel line (230) is registered with sensor (118), which is paired with the master disc on the crankshaft, the rotation of crankshaft (110) is registered and a signal characterizing angular position thereof is produced, and on the basis of registered character (420) of the change in fuel pressure in fuel line (230), movement (421, 422, 423) in fuel pump (210) is concluded and on the basis thereof, as well as on the basis of a signal characterizing the angular position of the crankshaft, the actual stroke in cylinder (113) of the engine is concluded.

EFFECT: technical result is to improve the determination of the actual stroke in the cylinder of the engine with progressively moving pistons.
