SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a counterweighted release lever for a vehicle seat back release mechanism. Seat back release mechanism comprises: a release lever and a counterweight. Release lever is configured to rotate in a first direction to actuate one or more functions of the vehicle seat by means of one or more ropes. Counterweight is arranged to move the release lever in a second direction and counteract the movement of the release lever in the first direction. Counterweight provides sufficient weight to move the centre of mass of the release lever towards the pivot point of the release lever. Pivot point can be located adjacent to the counterweight.
EFFECT: providing an inertia counteracting function.
