FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to seats for motor vehicles, in particular, to locking mechanism for central armrest of seat. Armrest assembly for a vehicle comprises an armrest and a fixing unit. Armrest comprises an armrest body, a fastening bracket for attachment of the armrest body to the seat assembly, a connecting element and a releasing means for moving the armrest body between different configurations. Connecting element is articulated at one end to fastening bracket, and on opposite end to housing of armrest. Fixing assembly comprises a rotary locking element located under the armrest housing, a wire retainer located on the seatback frame element, and a retractable locking pin to support engagement of the rotary locking member and the wire retainer. Retractable locking pin is functionally attached to the releasing agent.
EFFECT: increased comfort during operation.
