SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a lid assembly for use in closing round holes in universal joint bearings, for example, those found in heavy industrial installations, in particular rolling mills. Cover assembly for the circular bearing bore in universal joint fork (10') contains a plurality of separate cover segments (26) configured and sized for insertion into said opening in positions interacting with each other to close said opening. Each of cover segments (26) has an outer edge that is installed in the blocking groove, bounding the inner surface of said opening. Assembly also comprises means for connecting segments (26) of the lid to thereby form a solid round lid and means for rotating the lid of the lid relative to the plug.

EFFECT: technical result: producing a lid assembly for a round hole for a bearing in a universal joint fork, capable of withstanding high permissible loads.
