In the first embodiment, the ceiling upholstery for a vehicle includes ceiling upholstery, a double rod push pin and a magnetic fastening means. Said double rod push pin attaches the ceiling upholstery to the vehicle body and contains a head and cylindrical rods with ribs. Said magnetic fastener attaches the ceiling upholstery to the vehicle body and contains a base, a cup and a magnet. According to the second embodiment, the ceiling upholstery for a vehicle comprises a magnetic fastening means having a carrier and a magnet which is annular in shape. This method for attaching the ceiling upholstery to the body of a vehicle comprises the steps of positioning the ceiling upholstery relative to the body, attaching the ceiling upholstery to the body and supporting the ceiling upholstery in the installed position along the inner surface of the roof panel of the vehicle.
