SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a system and method for selecting a parking space for a vehicle. In the method, the parking space selection system for a vehicle involves transmitting information relating to a vehicle to an infrastructure device. Then, information about parking spaces is received from the infrastructure device. After that, said information about parking spaces identifies at least one empty parking space and at least one characteristic associated with the parking space. At least one parking space is selected at least partially based on said characteristic. Further, such characteristics relating parking spaces include the ambient temperature and exposure to sunlight on parking spaces. Lastly, the parking space exposed to the least amount of sunlight is selected.

EFFECT: improved performance of fuel cells and vehicle batteries.
