FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy. Before installing the sliding gate (1), two layers of the starting mixture are poured into the upper part of the channel (4) of the ladle glass (5) of the steel-teeming ladle. First layer, 30 mm above the level of the joint of the fixed plate (2) of the sliding gate (1) and the bottom of the ladle glass (5), is formed of 300–600 ml of silica gel, which is pre-dried to a temperature of 50–100 °C. Second layer, to the level of the height of the ladle glass (5), is formed of the starting mixture (7), pre-dried to a temperature of 30–40 °C.
EFFECT: opening of the slide gate without the use of external influences and free flow of metal are ensured.
