METHOD OF PLATING LAVSAN FILAMENT WITH NON-DESTRUCTIVE SURFACE ACTIVATION Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC D06M11/83 C23C18/40

Abstract RU 2682577 C1

FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for plating plastics, in particular polyester filaments (fibers), and can be used in the manufacture of electrically conductive metallized polyester filaments used in electronics, electrical engineering and other fields of modern technology, including for producing thin flexible electrical conductors. Method of copper plating of the polyester filament surface involves the activation of the surface by a non-destructive method of introducing polar groups into a polyester filament, based on the reaction of aldehydes with the aromatic lavsan ring in solutions of organic acids or hydrochloric acid to form in the polymer chain chemically attached -OH groups, and chemical metallization by precipitating copper in an alkaline solution onto the prepared surface of a lavsan filament using sodium borohydride as a reducing agent at room temperature.

EFFECT: invention provides for the preparation of continuous and uniform conductive copper coatings on lavsan threads while maintaining the strength characteristics of the lavsan filament and at the same time ensuring the environmental friendliness of the process.
