SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a new binding system and its use for binding and hardening fabrics, as well as products containing such associated fabrics. Binder system of the invention contains from 5 to 70 % by weight of carboxylic acid-based polymers that do not contain low molecular weight crosslinking agents with a molecular weight of <1000 g/mol, and from 95 to 30 % by weight of starch or a mixture of starch. Use of a binder system according to the invention allows to obtain materials with improved colour stability for a long time, as well as complying with the requirements of environmental safety, mechanical strength, thermal stability and moisture resistance imposed on this type of materials.

EFFECT: materials according to the invention are intended for the production of a cushioning backing for thin coated membranes, flooring and waterproof shielding, as well as textile base or fabric reinforcement flooring, in particular carpets and flooring made of polyvinyl chloride, or for a facing material intended for facing walls inside and outside buildings, as well as furniture.
