FIELD: transportation.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method for absorbing or dissipating energy for load damping. Energy absorber (2) operates between receiving unit (101) and carrier (102). Absorptive capacity of energy absorber (2) can be affected by electrically controllable magnetic field generating unit (16). Measured values (17–20) of loads (80) are sequentially collected using measuring device (61). Overload event (63) is detected when value (24) obtained from measured values (17–20) exceeds predetermined threshold value (65). After overload event (63) was detected, a predicted load curve (70) on load unit (100) is estimated based on a set of measured values (19–20). Then, planned power flow curve (17) is determined for magnetic field generating unit (16), which dynamically damps predicted load curve (70). Power flow through magnetic field generating unit (16) is controlled dynamically using planned power flow curve (71).

EFFECT: increase in protection against damage to transported objects is achieved.
