FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to traumatology, and is intended for use in the separation of the lower pole of the patella. At the first stage, a longitudinal skin incision is made from the base of the patella to the tibial tuberosity. 2–3 holes are drilled in an oblique direction through the distal fragment and 2–3 holes parallel to them through the surface cortical in the main fragment of the patella. Then two nylon threads are twisted through these holes in a zigzag fashion in the “shoe lacing” type. After that, the second step is a nylon thread through a tunnel drilled additionally in the patella in the transverse direction; reduce the ends of the nylon thread on the side surfaces of the patella; hold the second thread through the base of the patellar own ligament and stitch it with a blanket stitch along both side edges to the zone of the proximal ligament. Tighten the ends of the threads and firmly knotted them on both sides at the base of the patellar ligament, previously reducing the patella to its physiological level. Strength of the suture is controlled intraoperatively, performing movements in the knee joint. Carry out layer-by-layer wound closure.

EFFECT: method allows the patient to be immobilized for a short time, thus preventing the development of contracture in the knee joint.
