FIELD: testing equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to test a power cable of power mining equipment and machinery, mainly self-propelled cars, cleaning and tunneling machines. Unit includes a carriage mounted on rails mounted on the base. On two opposite sides of the carriage supports are mounted. For reciprocating movement of the carriage along the guides a two-strand rope drive is installed, consisting of a rope fixed on pulleys connected to an electromechanical drive on one of the supports, and a turntable mounted on the second support. Cable under test is fixed at one end to the support, and to the other – directly to the carriage. When testing, the cable can be placed in a cable laying machine, which is laid on the base and at one end is also attached to the support, and at the other to the carriage. Without a cable laying machine, the end of the cable is fixed on the support through a tension unit, made in the form of two consecutive rollers connected to a controlled pneumatic cylinder. During the movement of the carriage with a fixed end of the cable, the cable is subjected to dragging, curving in an arbitrary shape, is subjected to torsion with the formation of a different shape of the loop, strained and stretched.

EFFECT: ability to simulate the actual operating conditions and with a high degree of reliability to assess the mechanical strength of the cable and to identify defects that occur during operation.
