SELF-POWERED ANALYTE SENSOR AND DEVICES USING THE SAME Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B5/145

Abstract RU 2683203 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment. Device for monitoring analyte levels comprises an analyte sensor configured to generate current when in contact with interstitial fluid, sensor electronics comprising a capacitor device, a switch between the analyte sensor in a living body and a capacitor device and one or more components. Capacitor device is capable of receiving current through the switch for accumulating charge. Switch has the first and the second states. Capacitor device is operatively coupled to the analyte sensor when the switch is in the first state, so that it is capable of receiving current. Capacitor device is not operatively coupled to the analyte sensor when the switch is in the second state, so that it is not capable of receiving current. Switch is able to switch from the first state to the second when detecting a magnetic field exceeding a threshold level. Capacitor device is able to discharge the accumulated charge to power the components when the switch is in the second state. One of the components is a wire frame and is capable of creating a second magnetic field, indicating that the switch is in the second state using the accumulated charge from the capacitor device. Analyte control device comprises a self-powered analyte sensor, sensor electronics, a wire frame. Sensor electronics is operatively coupled to the analyte sensor, capable of transition from an inactive state to an active state when powered by a remote power source and transmitting analyte level data when it is in the active state. Wire frame is capable of creating a magnetic field when the sensor electronics is when powered by a remote power source, which indicates that the sensor electronics is in the active state.

EFFECT: wider range of analyte control devices is provided.
