POUR POINT DEPRESSANTS FOR IMPROVING LOW-TEMPERATURE VISCOSITY OF AGED LUBRICATING OIL Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC C10M145/14 C10M169/04 C10M157/00 C10N30/02 C10N30/08 C10N40/25 C08F220/18

Abstract RU 2683257 C2

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to compositions for use as a pour point depressant for improving the low-temperature viscosity of an aged lubricating oil, containing two alkyl(meth)acrylate copolymers, characterised in that the composition contains from 30 to 90 % by weight of a first copolymer and from 10 to 70 % by weight of a second copolymer, based on the total weight of the composition, and wherein: a) the first copolymer consists of (I) from 35 to 60 % by weight of monomer units of lauryl-myristyl methacrylate (LMA) based on the total weight of the copolymer and (II) from 40 to 65 % by weight of monomer units of cetyl-stearyl methacrylate (SMA) based on the total weight of the copolymer; and b) the second copolymer consists of (I) from 61 to 95 % by weight of monomer units selected from lauryl-myristyl methacrylate (LMA) and dodecyl-pentadecyl methacrylate (DPMA), based on the total weight of the copolymer, (II) from 5 to 39 % by weight of monomer units selected from cetyl eicosyl methacrylate (CEMA) and cetyl-stearyl methacrylate (SMA), based on the total weight of the copolymer, as well as a lubricating oil composition containing a base oil and from 0.03 to 3 % by weight (based on the total weight of the copolymers) depressant. Invention also relates to a method for improving the low-temperature viscosity of an aged lubricating oil composition, wherein the composition of aged lubricating oil is a composition that is used in an engine, in particular a diesel engine, and is characterised by a viscosity at a low shear rate of not more than 60 Pa⋅s and yield strength of less than 35 Pa in accordance with ASTM D4684.

EFFECT: pour point depressants for improving the low-temperature viscosity of aged lubricating oil are disclosed.
