SUBSTANCE: tamper-evident closure (1) for a container comprises a shell comprising first shell part (3A) and second shell part (3B), and a tamper-evident overcap comprising cap (4A) which is fixed to the exterior of the first shell part, and tamper-evident member (4B) which is releasably connected to cap (4A) and releasably located around the exterior of at least part of second shell part (3B). Thus, first and second shell parts (3A, 3B) cannot be separated unless member (4B) is released, and thereafter cap (4A) is removable together with first shell part (3A).
EFFECT: after separation of the tamper-evident member, the cap can be removed together with the first shell part and after separating the tamper-evident member, the first shell part can be shifted relative to the second shell part, ensuring the opening of the closure.
