SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fire fighting equipment, in particular, to a fire extinguishing aerosol generator, providing fire suppression due to the impact on the center of an aerosol jet generated by burning a solid charge of an aerosol-forming composition (AFC). Device for volumetric aerosol fire extinguishing containing thermally protected body, electric start unit, aerosol-forming charge, made in the form of channel-less drafts and fixed in the body; combustion chamber is formed inside the body and with nozzle holes distributed over the side surface of the lid, differ in that the start-up unit is made in the nozzle lid; the nozzle lid in the shape of a truncated cone is made with a side tilt angle from 10 to 15 degrees, in the central part of the end surface of the charge, from the side of the bottom, there is a cavity in the form of a disk filled with a substance decomposing with heat absorption and the formation of products that do not support combustion, cavity is insulated from the open side with a non-combustible material, the charge is made of a composition with a negative oxygen balance, charge is fixed in the body on the side of the side surface and on the bottom side by a protective-fastening layer, and the combustion chamber is formed on the side of the lid.

EFFECT: better fire extinguishing ability while maintaining the temperature level of an aerosol jet and ensuring effective heat removal to prevent the oxidized combustion products of aerosol compositions from burning out with a negative oxygen balance.
